When I first heard about the Vickers Tactical Mag Catch and Slide Stop, I thought to myself, this is a solution to a problem looking for. I bought these two for my Glock 43 pistol a few months later to see what all the fuss was about.

As with many other products I've reviewed while blogging, it turned out I was wrong again. Sometimes products are more effective than what appears in the gun store, or work better at the range. With Larry's background, there must be a solution to this madness, right? I think there is.

The first step in installing new parts is to remove the stock slide stop and magnetic lock. This might sound scary if you've never done it before, but it's really easy. All you need is a screwdriver and a punch (or a Glock tool like I used).

The main work on this gun was done by my friend at TXT Custom Gunworks, we will be doing a full review of his work soon. I have to say, I absolutely love everything he does.

The first step is to remove the sliders from the frame as you did for cleaning, then use a hammerless hole punch to push the pins from left to right. You may need to turn the sliding stop slightly to loosen the pin, the pin has a groove that connects to the sliding stop and holds everything in place.

To release the slide stop, you must also remove the locking block. In the image below you can see two wires on the removed pin. These are the kits that attach to the slide and hold it in place.

Next is to remove the magnetic catch. I prefer to use a pick with a 90 degree point, it seems to help remove the spring without scratching the inside of the snap. Full explanation: Tango made a tool to convert downmag versions. Vickers magazine issue

These two parts of the game don't seem to be worlds apart, but once you get the shot going, you can see how far the Vickers part goes. You might think that the magazine is in danger of withdrawing, but you'd be wrong. The shape of Larry Catch can be easily accessed without any problem.

Next comes the slideshow stop. The Vickers part is on the right and the stock part is on the left. I really like the extra texture on the Vickers part, it seems to really help with locking the slides with wet hands. why do you need it This is a huge plus if you ever have a breakdown and need to lock the slides back to clean with bloody or wet hands.

Once attached to the gun and reassembled, you can see the magazine and slide stop protruding more. I'm going to have to see how different I feel once I hit the limit.

All that was left to do was go to the range and do some practice, which is exactly what I did. I think I reload a little faster than with the stock setup, and I find that I don't have to change my grip like I used to.

So would I recommend buying vickers parts for your firearms? Yes. It's hard to go wrong with their low MSRP of under $20 per part. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how good it is. Our GSR-01 Slide Racker has been so successful with the smaller single row .380 Glock 42 that the next logical step was to create a version of its slightly larger brother the 9mm single row Glock® 43.

The GSR-02 added subtle but functional serrated fins to the end of the slide to guarantee positive circulation of ammunition in the weapon. No matter how harsh the conditions, or how tough the fight, you can always rely on the GSR-02 to get your weapon up and running. Even if you're landing with one hand, quickly and aggressively place the rail against your belt, holster, or heel. Small or arthritic hands will find it much easier to use the traditional "slingshot" method. The GSR-02 is large enough to provide leverage, yet thin enough to be unobtrusive in a concealed carry holster.

The GSR-02 is a high quality drop-in component that requires no other modifications to the firearm. Like the OEM part, the needle is made of glass-reinforced nylon with stainless steel reinforcement and replaces the striker retainer plate in minutes. Once in place, the GSR-02 provides a smooth, easy and aggressive glide cycle in any condition.

Glock 43x And 48 Improvements

Ask any professional firearms instructor how to shoot and the first few sentences will contain "trigger control". Without moving the weapon, a standard trigger press is all but guaranteed to hit the target. If your eyes are aligned, that's a fundamental thing.

Few controls on a pistol have as much of an overall impact on a successful shot as the trigger. We haven't lost sight of that in our efforts to create the Glock®, the best combat pistol on the planet. This has led to our latest upgrade, the new VTCT series - Vickers Tactical Carry Trigger.

Let's start with the flat trigger shape. It's popular in combat and competitive shooters, and for good reason. With a larger front surface and lower trigger safety, the shooter gets maximum mechanical advantage. This allows a tap to trigger. Another advantage is the ability to move straight back without mindlessly "pushing" the weapon to one side or the other like some OE triggers do.

With no vertical "ridge" in the center of the trigger face to interfere with your fingers, it makes shooting at the range all day much more comfortable.

Vickers Tactical Slide Racker Glock 43 Polymer Black

In terms of functionality, we've kept the mechanical retractor that most Glock® shooters know and love for concealed carry. However, for a quick follow-up should the need arise, we've shortened the overtravel by a notch, allowing you to quickly reset it.

We then mold the entire trigger assembly using the exact same polymer used by the Glock® for the ultimate in reliability, durability and compatibility. All pivot pins are 17-4 stainless steel and are splined for maximum retention during assembly. Because we don't CNC machine any of the aluminum components using traditional hard coat anodizing, the VTCT never gets hot after long workouts. Our stimuli are insulators, not conductors of heat. It will not remove or cause wear that damages the frame, potentially rendering the trigger safe ineffective. Because all the geometry is molded into place, there are no set screws or adjustments to fail, leaving you with a dead or "double" weapon. The certified Glock® Armorer easily installs the VTCT in minutes.

So, for recoil, you can make few changes to the pistol that are worth it as a VTCT carry trigger. Give it a try and see your accuracy improve and you won't look back. Know that it's as tough as your Glock® and will always have your back.
